We found this A-Z in the cottage and inside was some directions to near where Steven's parents live and it was placed in the pages of where we live. Spooky!

Not sure where this was but it was beautiful. We stopped here after buying some food in Pathhead to eat on the way home.

May and June Favourites

Hello!

Hope everyone is well. Lot's of moving about for Trebles and a Mixer at the moment so it will be Bryden holding the fort for a while until Claire has moved into her new house.

On to the faves:

1. Simple Oil Balancing Moisturiser. 2. L'oreal Glam Bronze Sun Radiance Trio.
3. Maybelline Rocket Volume Mascara. 4. Biorganics Hair Oil.
Simple Oil Balancing Moisturiser
An oldie but a goodie. I had forgotten I had this and decided to give it another go just to use it up and I've fallen back in love with it. Its inexpensive and works a treat. In my opinion it's on par with La Roche Posay's Effaclar Mat minus the hefty price tag.

L'oreal Glam Bronze Sun Radiance Trio
This is also an older product I've recently started using this again. The product itself is made up of 3 sections - a rosy pink, a gold and a pearly light gold shade. You can swirl them together and use them all at once (this is what I do) or use them separately. It's more like a highlighting/bronzing blush and gives a nice sheen to the skin without any chunks of glitter.

Maybelline Rocket Volume Mascara
This reminds me of the Max Factor False Lash effect (I think the Maybelline one might be cheaper?). It's great! No clumps and gives great volume. I'll be buying this again.

Biorganics Hair Oil
This was from one of my beauty boxes. It's quite a light oil in comparison to Macadamia Oil or Chi Silk Infusion. As with most oils this seems to speed up the drying time when I'm blow drying my hair and leaves a nice shine.

Nudo Noodle House, Newcastle
Newcastles hidden gem! Situated near the Gate in the Centre of town, this restaurant is simply fantastic. The prices are great, service is fantastic and the food is out of this world.

Surimi rolls, Costco
I picked these up on a trip to Costco with my parents one day. They're crab sticks filled with garlic and herb cream cheese. I need to buy more ASAP.

BBQ's!
Now the weather has heated up I'm really enjoying having BBQ's. This picture is a snap from the one Steven and I had in our tiny back yard.

Getting creative
I used to be into Art in a big way when I was younger but this faded away once I started working and went to Uni. I just forgot all about it completely. I've dug my old supplies out and started to paint/draw again. I'm not very good but I'm really enjoying having a hobby again. It's so easy to get yourself in a rut and this was my means of escape.

Next month I'm looking forward to...

  • My cousins wedding - Steven and I are going to Scotland for my cousins wedding and we're really excited for it. We'll be staying in a cottage in the countryside for 4 days with my parents and we've also arranged to go out to a very special fish restaurant.
  • Spending time with friends
  • Learning to knit - My friend from work has promised to teach me how to knit! Wish me luck - My first attempt was a disaster.

Homeware Wish List

Ikea Wish List

IKEA Lappljung Ruta, £46 / IKEA Tyst, £3.30 / IKEA Lappljung Ruta, £6.62 / KROKETT / IKEA Knaprig, £4.63 / IKEA Varpan, £1.65 / IKEA Tyst, £1.32 / IKEA Polarvide, £2.64 / STOCKHOLM / IKEA Märit, £4.63 / IKEA Blanken, £4.63

Living in rented accommodation means I'm always looking at things to buy to brighten up our dingy flat. These are a few things I've spotted on the IKEA website lately. Although the table is a little out of my price range at £175 I'm hoping to spot something similar with a cheaper price tag in secondhand shops.

A Belated April Favourites

We totally forgot all about our favourites post's lately but here are a few of Bryden's favourites from the month of April:

1. Dr Jart Water Sure Gel. 2. Moschino Funny!
3. Dove Nourishing Oil Care Leave-in Spray. 4. Origins Vitazing.

Dr Jart Water Sure Gel
I had originally went into boots to pick up a tube of the Indeed Hydraluron after hearing some great things about hyaluronic acid but I spotted this on offer for less. Noticing the original price was higher then the Hydraluron I decided to pick this up to test while it was cheaper. I haven't tried the Hydraluron so I can't make a comparison but I have seen an improvement in my skin. My skin seems more 'moist' and smooth. I've noticed my Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation goes on a lot nicer once I have used this. It's a gel so it's great for my oilier skin.

Moschino Funny!
Lovely fresh scent that reminds me of something from my youth. I think I'll be wearing this every day once the summer properly kicks in (if it ever does).

Dove Nourishing Oil Care Leave-in Spray
I saw this on Kate's youtube videos and blog posts. I always trust Kate's recommendations. Everything I've bought because of her posts or videos turns out to be amazing and this is no exception. I've been using this on wet and dry hair. It smells gorgeous! It's really good for getting out the tats and leaves hair feeling smooth.

Origins Vitazing

Another Kate recommendation here. I've had this for a while but I've recently dug it back out to use underneath my Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation. I really like how it provides a little bit of colour before I put my foundation on and gives a nice glow without the sparkle. I don't find that it makes my skin any oilier either which is great.

Mmm Hummus!
I haven't ate out much this month but I really enjoyed having a go at making my own hummus. I looked up a few recipes before making it and ended up doctoring it to my own taste. I've made it 3 times now and I don't think I'll bother buying hummus from the supermarket ever again. Homemade is soo much nicer!

Pizza!!!
I tried my hand at homemade pizza this month with very tasty results. The one of the left is just your bog standard margarita but with some caramalised onions thrown into the mix and the one on the right is potato, kale, caramalised onions with rosemary. They were awesome!

Getting active! I have to lose a lot of weight to fit into a bridesmaid dress for my friend's wedding. We can't get another dress so this absolutely has to happen. I've been doing the 30 day shred and I'm really enjoying it. The workout is around 25 mins long and the time literally flies as you get soo into it. I've got a lot of weight to shift so wish me luck!!

Next month I'm looking forward to...

  • Lady date with Claire at Las Iguanas.
  • Hotel Du Vin Sunday Brunch with Steven for our 2 year anniversary.
  • I'm wanting to save some money so I'm going to try and have a mini spending ban. I'm going away to Scotland in July for my cousins wedding (exciting!!!!) so I want to save some money for that.
Hope you're all well,

Claire and Bryden x
